Madeline and Lionel

Madeline and Lionel tied the knot on the 9th of March 2024 at Forest Weddings Kinglake, a unique forest experience which you can make your own. If you’re looking for a rustic bohemian venue to have a relaxed, do-it-yourself style wedding then you have come to the right place! And you can stay for the weekend, they sleep 120 guests.

Lionel had a romantic proposal in store for Madeline, she tells us, “Lionel had organised a proposal set up in a hotel room while we were having a little winter staycation. It had flowers, candles and a lit up ‘marry me sign’ – the full set up, it took my breath away!”

Belle et Blanc bride ‘Madeline’ picked the ‘Macy‘ A-line wedding gown, with lace and beading. Madeline tells us how she came to choose her beautiful gown, “I first came to the store on a Saturday, I’m from Tasmania so it worked out that my Mum, and two of her friends were in Melbourne as they were going to a concert. We had only been to one other shop, but I tried on a couple of gowns at Belle et Blanc and I was leaning towards a simple dress with floral stitching. However, I decided to think about it and come back the following weekend with my sister and my friends. During the week, I couldn’t stop thinking about that dress ‘Macy’ it had more sparkle and was more dressy. When I tried it on the following week, I knew that it was that one, that was the one.”

The wedding day was such a wonderful day, accompanied by their nearest and dearest friends and family. Madeline tells us, “We had stayed up at the accommodation with friends and family having dinner together the night before. The next day we had more family and friends travelling to the venue for the wedding day. The day of, was actually relaxing, in the morning enjoying getting ready with our friends, then doing a first look before the ceremony. My dress felt amazing, it felt so fancy when I put it on. It was a very hot wedding day, it was 37 degrees in Melbourne, and a little bit cooler in the forest. But even with the heat I still felt really pretty. The ceremony, while being hot, was still very beautiful. Afterwards, it was great to relax at the reception we had a pizza truck and taco truck, and as we had photos beforehand, we enjoyed the cocktail hour. Later I changed into a short dress to enjoy the dance floor.”
